A Family Legacy
Carey Caruso is the eldest son of the late Paul Caruso (1920–2001), one of Los Angeles's most celebrated criminal defense attorneys. Paul Caruso represented high-profile clients for over four decades — from professional boxer Art Aragon to Charles Manson associate Susan Atkins — earning a reputation as a fearless, principled advocate.
When Paul retired from full-time practice in 1997 and passed away in 2001, Carey had already been carrying on the family firm's tradition of vigorous, ethical criminal defense since 1980. He trained under his father's mentorship and absorbed the same commitment to clients that made Paul Caruso a legend of the California Bar.
"Heaven is better off and the world has sustained a great loss."
— August Gene Carloni, former Italian-American Lawyers Association President, on the Caruso legacyToday, Carey continues to operate the Law Office of Carey Caruso at 425 S. Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills — the same practice his father built — defending clients across the full spectrum of California criminal law.
